Happy Monday, all!

We had a a really nice weekend and I am looking for a pretty calm week.

On Saturday, Hubby and I went to Dollar General for some stock up items. I had a $5 orr $25 coupon and knowing that we were going to shop there anyway, might as well go when the coupon was good. LOL! Sometimes, Hubby will just run there during the week and pick up any items that we need, that we usually buy from there. This time, I told him we had to go on Saturday to use the coupon. LOL!

Then we went to eat a a local BBQ place that Hubby had found a coupon for. It was yummy! The evening was just spent relaxing.

Yesterday, I watched some tv in the morning, then went to the grocery store. I didn't have a big list. but got some deals and a few necessities. I still managed to spend $63. What is up with that??? Still, everythin I got we need and will get used. Our bill is about the same amount as it has been for a while, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Especially since I pick up a few care package items for Chance on every trip. I boxed a good one up for him yesterday and Hubby will mail it today.

I spent the evening working on our computer. We have had it a couple of years and, though it is still a kick ass computer, it has been slowing down and having some errors. So I decided to recover it back to factory condition. Of course, that entails backing everything up and deciding what will and will not go back on it. I finished the recovery but did not play on it last night. I made sure we could access the internet and that our favorites were reinstalled, so Hubby could use the internet today.

I still have a lot more work to do, but we are getting there.

Happy Monday everyone!

I dropped into DG last week and got one of those $5 off $25 Coupons. I was going to go back Sat. but the Q said you couldn't use other coupons with it(and I was planning on doing that)so I ended up not going. bleh
I could think of anything I needed that bad that would have gotten me to $25..oh well, maybe next time.
I didn't even go to Big Lots either to use the 20% off coupon I found online.

What's wrong with me, not wanting to shop a deal?lol

I stayed in my pjs all day Sunday...no shopping and I had most of Sunday's dinner precooked so it was easy to slap it on the table.lol

I love when you can have a lazy stay-at-home kind of day. ;-)

Sounds like a nice weekend.

A friend and I found a good BBQ place here in town, and I wanted to take Shane there over the weekend, but Kat couldn't be convinced. I understand...I'm not always in the mood for BBQ either. We'll have to go another time.

I love lazy stay-at-home days, too! I don't get many of them.

I don't think my coupon said anything about other coupons. It just said that the total had to be $25 before tax. But, if we only go a couple of times a month, we can spend that at DG on stuff I cannot get any cheaper anywhere else. I also figured I could get some care package goodies to get us to $25.

We did not use that Big Lots coupon either. I could not think of a thing we needed. Especially since we have been getting rid of stuff. LOL!

Annie Jones, the BBQ place probably had something on the menu that Kat would have likes.

BBQ is like Mexican and Chinese food for me. I can eat it any time. I LOVE BBQ!

Happy Monday back!!!
I never have heard of DG having a $5 off coupon. Where have I been? It kills me to miss something so wonderful like that.
We have been spending about $80 a week on groceries so I'm ok with it. We just keep having expenses popping up here and there. I hate that!

SonyaAnn, go sign up for Dollar General's mailing list and they will send you and email when coupons are available. Some have also been printing out on receipts. Go to dollargeneral.com right now. Up at top, where it says Super Savings Even, roll over the bar and a banner to print a $5 off $25 coupon will be there. It will be good only on Friday 1/28. We will not be going, as we just stocked up there.

Every little bit helps, right?

I hate surprise expenses, too.

I usually don't use those $5./25. coupons at DG. They aren't worth it to me. Don't you love it when you can't think of a thing to buy.

Hi, Precious. We have never used the DG $5/25 either as we usually don't spend that much that. But I knew it was coming, so we had not been to DG in a couple of weeks and had saved up our list of stuff we get there. We would have gotten it all anyway. Might as well consolidate lists and trips.

You need to have an adventure and write about it! I'm having a Frances withdrawal.

Oh, SonyaAnn, I am just not very adventurous lately. I will think of something soon.

Chance will LOVE that care package!

He really will, McVal. He loves getting packages. He may gets more than anyone on that base. LOL! for Christmas he got one from us, MIL, biomom, Meredith and at least one from biomom's side of the family. So, at least 5 boxes just for Christmas. We all put enough stuff in his boxes for him to share with his buddies. We know some soldiers don't get much from home.
