I'm a grandma again!

My 3rd grandson came into the world this morning at 9:09 am California time. We are so happy he decided to make his grand entrance only 5 days later than expected. Meredith, our daughter, is REALLY glad! LOL!

Bob, my hubby, is there and will be sending me pics as soon as he can. They are all so excited and I really wish I were there. Well, at least one of us is.

You like me, you really like me....

(I wonder how many people here are old enough to know the significance of my title.)

Thanks so much to Together We Save for giving me this award. I am a bit of an oddball, sometimes, so think this is totally appropriate.

The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken - excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chickens by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all…

I will pass this along to ......

Erin @ JANE4girls $800 Annual Budget For A Family of 4 It is because of Erin that I set up this blog. I just wanted to follow her deals. Last year, she really did stay within her budget. Her deal finding is AMAZING.

Phillena @ ~~Inch by Inch Couponing is a Cinch She hasn't been blogging a lot, lately, due to the impending addition to her family, but her blog is fun and she had a FABULOUS giveaway recently! Phillena was one of the first people I "met" blogging.

Tracey @ $1200 Frugal Challenge 2009 Tracey is, I think, the second person I "met" blogging. She finds some great deals and posts about them in time for the rest of us to go get them.

SonyaAnn @ A Mom, Money and More because she is just about the funniest person I have met in a long time. And her blogs are so interesting!

Vaerie @ Frugal Family Fun Blog because her crafts with her little girls makes me wish my kids were little again.

Thanks, friends, for all the interesting and informative blogs!

Yes, I went to Walgreens on Earth Day....

I just could not pass up the 15% discount on items that I planned to buy this week anyway. I went right after my workout and was happy that everything on my list was in stock, and even found some Ritz chips on clearance for $.90/bag. Hubby loves these, but we don't buy them at regular price. LOL! He will be happy when he gets back! He will also be happy about the Pringles and lavender Johnsons Softlotion! (yes, the lotion is for him. LOL!)

I took my stuff to the cosmetics counter and handed the beauty advisor my coupon first. I had checked up front for the tote up front and there were none, so I told the beauty advisor that I would need a raincheck for the tote. She said, "I don't think we are giving rainchecks. We are just giving the discount. " I said, very nicely, "I think you ARE giving rainchecks, since it is an advertised item." I was ready to have her call a manager...they all know me....when she looked down and found a pile of bags behind the counter. LOL! She said, "Now where did THOSE come from?" and laughed.

So I got everything I went for for $12.20 and saved $17.81. I would have paid a lot less, but forgot to use the $9 in RRs that I had in my binder WITH ME. LOL! I got another $3 RR, so now have $12 to spend. Not my biggest trip, or savings, but it was all I wanted this week.

To shop, or not to shop.

Okay, it is Earth Day, and I, like many others, received the lovely coupon from Walgreens to get 15% off your purchase, 20% for Walgreens items, and a free reusable shopping bag.

Now...I have a list for Walgreens....generally I go on Saturday, but work on the list during the week. It is not a huge list, but that 15% would be a nice savings. And I can always use another bag. And I can pass right by Walgreens on the way home from work.

BUT, I have to work until 5, then go to Curves and workout, then catch the bus home. I usually get home around 6:30 and I will be famished. And hubby isn't here to cook dinner for me.

I am thinking I can pass up this deal, though that may change on the way home. How is that for indecisive?

Happy Earth Day!

In 2 days I will be single.....

Well, not permanently single!! LOL! Hubby will be leaving on Sunday night to drive to California... yes a 22 hour drive. Our oldest daughter lives at Camp Pendleton with her dear Marine hubby and our adorable 2 1/2 year old grandson, Theo, and she is having her second baby boy on 4/25. Well, he is due on the 25th, but you know how babies are!

They don't have anyone to leave Theo with if Meredith goes into labor in the middle of the night, so when they came to visit, Meredith asked Bob if he would come to CA. Of course, he said yes. I wish I could go, but didn't think my boss would love for me to take a vacation of an indeterminate length of time. LOL! I'll miss my baby, but will sacrifice him for a while to be with our little girl.
Here is a pic of Meredith, Billy and Theo. Aren't they beautiful?!

20 Boxes of Sure Jell...

and 10 bags of sugar. That is what I have to find room for in my pantry. I was very fortunate to trade for a bunch of "Buy 2 Sure-Jell, get free Sugar" coupons. I make a LOT of jam every year, so go through LOTS of Sure-Jell. Not tons of sugar though, since I make low sugar jam, but I still need sugar. The coupons expired yesterday and, even though I have had the coupons for months, I had not gotten used them, so I went to Walmart this weekend to use up my coupons…I had 10 left after sharing the wealth with family and friends…and they did not carry the low sugar variety (pink box). I did not feel like going from Walmart to Walmart, so was going to let the coupons go and hope that more came out before I needed Sure Jell.

Well, Hubby decided that we shouldn’t waste them, so he said he would go to another Walmart and get them for me while I was at work. I was worried, since we don't shop at Walmart a lot and I have heard horror tales about coupon usage there. But it has the best price on Sure-Jell, by about $1! I told him that if there were any issues with the coupon to just leave the stuff there, get the coupons and go, but he laughed and said he would manage.

So yesterday, he went to a different Walmart and got my Sure-Jell and sugar. I was surprised that they actually had 20 boxes of Sure Jell in stock, but they did! LOL! So I am stocked up and got 10 free 5 lb bags of sugar. WooHoo!

I guess it didn't hurt that Hubby charms everyone. The cashier probably fell over herself to take his coupons. LOL!

This weekend, I will have to reorganize my pantry. LOL!
