I'm doing it again....

not THAT, SonyaAnn!!

I decided that since Summer is over...well not really over for us here in Texas...I would need to make some more salsa, if I wanted to be able to afford to make it. Out of my last batch of 12 jars, that I made a couple of months ago, we have 5 left, so we will be needing more before I know it. This is what we have right now.

Another 12 jars won't make it until Spring, but that is all I plan to make tomorrow. Then we will just have to buy some, since it will be way cheaper to buy it in the Winter. LOL!. Homemade sals has become our favorite. It makes me wish we lived in a house so that I could grow a salsa garden. But who knows, maybe next Spring we will make some room in Hubby's garden and grow some of the ingredients on our balcony.

Think he can make room?
We went to a local farm today and bougth lots of tomatoes, onions and peppers. We got other stuff as well, but it was not for the salsa. I spent several hours today seeding and chopping peppers and tomorrow I will make and can the salsa. I will feel so Martha!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hello Martha...oops...Frances! HA! I had to love your, "not THAT, SonyaAnn!"

YUM...homemade Salsa sounds really yummy...I haven't made any in a couple of years, and now I am craving it!

My garden produced tons and tons of cherry tomatoes this year, but the nice, big, juicy yellow tomatoes were in short supply. I don't know why! The peppers did so-so, but the definite winner was the cherry tomatoes! :)

That first line made me snort my coffee! :)

I love homemade salsa!

Somewhere in the depths of my blog there is a recipe for salsa that I make with canned tomatoes. It's not as yummy as making it with fresh ingredients, but it sure beats the ready-made stuff. And it's not very expensive, either.

If you're interested and can't find it, let me know and I'll find it for you.

I love homemade salsa! Our garden only produced scrawny little tomatoes this year. No idea why.
That first line of your post to SonyaAnn is too funny.

Oh, A.Marie, you KNOW what SonyaAnn was thinking. I wish I had a garden. But alas, I have to buy my veggies.

Tomatoes are like GOLD!

Annie Jones, sorry I made you snort your coffee, but we all know how SonyaAnn thinks. LOL!

I will look for your salsa recipe for just in case.

Hi, Pam. Sorry your tomatoes were scrawny. I guess that is worse than having no garden. You do all the work and still don't have a tomato crop. Maybe next year will be better.

Laughing!!!! Sorry to hear it wasn't what I thought it would be!!!
And it looks like so much fun at your house! You balcony looks wonderful. We just pulled up the last of our plants. We didn't even get one tomato this year. The plants were huge but the tomatoes rotted because it was so cold this summer. But you have me thinking about buying tomatoes and making some yummy salsa!

Hi, SonyaAnn! I am sorry you didn't get tomatoes in your garden. If you can get some good tomatoes, bought should work fine. I got mine at a local farm for $1.25/lb. Sure, I can find deals on salsa and it might be cheaper to buy than make, but homemade is SO much better!

I am going to find Annie Jones recipe for making it with canned tomatoes, in case I have to make some more this winter.
