HOT, HOT, HOT!!!

My latest batch of salsa! The last two batches were not very hot, though they were delish. Hubby likes his salsa HOT, so I used LOTS more jalapenos this time. He says it has a great flavor and is spicy enough. Unfortunately, it is so hot, I can't eat it. LOL! I tasted it and my mouth was on FIRE.

So, I get the rest of the previous batch of mild salsa and all the above jars are just for him. It should last him a little while. LOL!

My hubby and teen son love their salsa HOT also! UGH! I don't know why someone would willing want to eat fire! It is beyond me! HA!

I like a little heat, but when it overpowers the flavors, then it's too hot for me.

A.Marie, I am with you.

Annie Jones, the odd thing is that the salsa is too hot for me, but it really DOES have a great flavor. I tasted a big scoop of it on a tortilla chip and it is delish. It is just too hot for the sensitive, as Hubby like to call me. LOL!

No one in my family likes salsa hot, so your mild batch would be perfect for us.

Hi, Pam! If you want to make the mild version for your family, I posted the recipe on July 20 this year. It is called "Zesty Sals", but I didn't add the hot sauce, so it was not zesty. LOL! I also removed all the seeds and membranes from the jalapenos. This time, I double the jalapenos and didn't remove membranes. What a difference!

My original recipe made 5 jars, so you could freezer or store in the fridge instead of canning. That would make it way faster.

I can tell just from looking at the two pictures of the different batches that this one is super hot!

What gave it away, SonyaAnn? All the peppers and seeds you can see, or the stickers on top that say "HOT"? I didn't want to eat this stuff by accident, so marked them. LOL! Not my usually cute stickers, but they are just for us, so it's okay.

Hi, Lisa! Sorry you didn't get veggies. Do you have a good produce market in your area? There is still time to find tomatoes.

I love reading your blog, so was happy to give you an award!
