I wish I were older.....

That is not something you hear very often, is it? Recently, I find myself wishing I were old enough to retire. Or maybe I should say well off enough to retire. I have a nice amount of money going into my retirement savings, but is sure isn’t enough to retire on soon, especially after last year’s major stock market losses.

I find myself wanting to be at home…not at work…almost every day. My job is not that exciting, though it has been a little stressful lately. Maybe that has something to do with it. It is just not very fun lately.

Over the weekend, I was thinking that maybe I am just lazy. LOL! But I don’t want to do NOTHING at home all the time. I just don’t want to be at work.

I should have married money. (just kidding!)

Francis, I so agree! I'm part of the 29 and holding bunch too! (49) I can't help but thinking the same way as so, if only I could find something on line to make enough cash, I'd ditvh it all.

29 and holding?! Good for you. I am admittedly 52, so could consider retirement in the not terribly distant future, but I fear it may be many, many years before I am able to retire. Sigh...

Thanks for coming to see me!

I'm with you. I know I'll need to work forever. I have nothing set aside for retirement.
But lately all I want is to be at home. Probably has more to do with a Chicago winter.

Helene, I am sorry you will have to work forever. Well, I hope you don't. I actually have been planning to retire at 65, but STILL, that is 13 years away. That seems like such a LONG time!

Frances, maybe you could retire a little earlier? I'd like to retire in 10 yrs, but health care (insurance) would be my biggest issue, I may have to work at least 16 hr.week to keep my health insurance, imagine that, I even work at a hospital being an RN , its a shame health insurance is such a worry! Oh and hey to Helene its never too late to start saving!

Hi, Marilyn's money. I really haven't thought seriously about when I will retire, since it seems so far away. 65 is the retirement age I put in my 401K planner to see if I am on track with my saving. My biggest concern would also be health insurance. Well, and having enough money to keep Hubby and me in the manner to which we have become accustomed! LOL!

Helene, it really is never too late to start saving for retirement. It is always better late than never.

Hi, Together We Save! Glad you stopped by.

Let's ALL win the lottery. Oh, wait, I guess it wouldn't be good for us all to win.

I think you need a vacation! Sometimes the grind of life just sucks it all out of you. When I get like that I just look at all the things that I do have! And don't forget you have me! God help you!

SonyaAnn, I always need a vacation!!! January is always tough, since I have to work full weeks, after not doing that from Thanksgiving through the end of the year. (I save vacation days and take long weekends, every weekend.)

It has also been a little stressful at work lately. My boss is stressed out and that just rolls downhill.

I will never forget that I have you!
