What do I do with these wrinkled apples?

I had bought a bag of apples from Aldi because they were so CHEAP. And I was eating one a day. When we bought our Nutribullet, Hubby decided we needed more apples to add to our “blasts” even though we still had some, so he bought another bag. (Blasts are like smoothies, only they consist only of veggies and fruit, nuts, seeds, water, and sometimes a scoop of protein powder. No yogurt.)

Those apples lasted a LONG time! Last weekend, we still had 4 and they were looking pretty pathetic.  Trust me...the pic does not do their condition justice.They were sad!

I had gotten tired of eating apples and Hubby has not been making many blasts over the last few weeks. Hubby asked “What do you want to do with these?” I knew he wanted to throw them out. I told him not to…that I would think of something to do with them.

So I thought and thought. Owwww...it made my head hurt. LOL!

So I diced them, cutting off the yucky parts… 

Then I added about ¼ cup sugar, ¼ cup brown sugar, a teaspoon of cinnamon and a couple of tablespoons of water….

Then I cooked them until they looked good (I think they simmered about 30 minutes)….

Yummy! 

 They were so good! And to think, Hubby was ready to toss them out!

I paid off my car.....EARLY!

For a while, I have been thinking I should just pay off my CRV. Especially when the balance got under $2000. I mean, we have had the cash, but got such a good rate on the loan from our credit union. PLUS I really like seeing money in our bank accounts.

I got an email from my credit union last week and thought I would just go check the accounts. This is where we had the loan and it shows up in the account listing. Our main account had a balance larger than the car loan balance. This is just a little account that we got ONLY so we could get car loans from the credit union.

That car loan kept saying, "Pay me! Pay me!" So, I did! $1200 paid that baby off 4 months early. I didn't save much in interest....just a few dollars.

But it was so cool to pay it off early. I have never done that before.

The money that was being direct deposited for the car loan will continue to go into that account. It will build up for the next car or just to make us feel a little richer. LOL!

As a Purex Insider, I was given the opportunity to try out a Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar. I have heard about Fels-Naptha forever, especially in the blogging world, but had never had a chance to try one. When I received it, I decided to try it out on a stain. I took pics to show you. I could not get them to upload. Sometimes computers suck!

Any way, I used it on a set in stain and it took some of it out, I think another treatment and it will get it all. Overall, I was impressed with how well it worked and how easy it was to use. And I have found online that I can just shave some, or grate some into the laundry to boost my detergent. I just have to figure out what I want to do with mine. Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets Review and Giveaway! (ends 8/13)

My bed smells so good!!!

I bet you are wondering why.

As a Purex Insider, I was given a chance to try Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets with a new formula that has 3X the scent.

 

As soon as I opened the box they were shipped in, I knew they were not your regular dryer sheets. The scent was so much stronger than usual. I did NOT want to stick my nose in the box. LOL! But the smell was really nice. I tried the Mountain Breeze scent as I am not a huge fan of lavender.

We already has a box of other branded dryer sheets open, but I opened the Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets to try them out immediately. Well, almost immediately. I am on vacation this week and guess where I am going?

Yep!

My girlfriend and I are going the casino! WooHoo! We are going to Louisiana, not Vegas, but we will have fun. We will spend 3 days and 2 nights in a comped room, with mostly comped food. So, a pretty low cost vacation.

My gf and I used to go once a year, but we haven't been in a couple of years as she was waiting to find out how her job was going. She got a new one, so we are out of here tomorrow morning.

Hubby is only slightly jealous, but he and I will be going in October, so he is not TOO jealous. LOL!
