Old Married Couple's Date Night.

I guess almost 15 years qualifies us as an old married couple. Right?

Yesterday, Hubby offered to go grocery shopping for me so I could rest my leg, but it has finally started to feel better, so I said I would go. He wanted to go, so we went together. First we went by Walgreens so we could pick up some on sale toilet paper. WooHoo!

Then it was on to Family Dollar to pick up on sale cat litter, as well as to stock up on store brand excedrin and mucinex. I was in desperate need of both and it is SO much cheaper there than I can even get store brand on sale at any other store.

We then went to Kroger. The main item we went after was Lloyds BBQ tubs. YES, I know we can make BBQ at home, but Hubby loves these things and he does not ask for much, so since they were on sale AND I had coupons, I planned to get 5 for the freezer. Guess what? Not one in stock. Hubby asked and was told they would get some in today. So we decided to leave and go back tomorrow.

So we headed home. I asked Hubby if he wanted to go get something to eat and he said, "No, we can be frugal and go home to eat." We were almost to the turn in to our complex when I suddenly had the urge to go eat chicken fried chicken. Yes, it hit me out of the blue. There is a great family restaurant not too far away, so I said let's go there. Hubby laughed and kept going. So we went and ate.

It was delish! I had chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots and okra. Hubby had grilled chicken strips with onions and peppers, green beans, blackeyed peas and dressing. Also, yummy rolls and cornbread. With tip is was $25. We brought home enough leftovers for Hubby to have a snack last night and lunch for both of us today. So, I think a pretty reasonable meal out.

There was a Kroger on the way there, so we stopped on the way back and they had the Lloyds BBQ, so we were able to get that and the other items on our list. We spent $42 and saved $33. I was happy with that.

We came home and put up groceries, then just hung out. Hubby and I both laughed about our wild "date night". But it was fun.

Will I look cool if I walk around holding my crotch?

I mean, guys do it! Seriously!
I got home from work this evening and I was in our bedroom changing out of my work clothes when I looked out the window. Yes, SonyaAnn, I was changing in front of an open window. But we live on the second floor and no one can see me even if they look up.

I saw a guy walking down the sidewalk with his girlfriend and he had a Kung Fu like grip on his crotch. I thought, "What the heck?" Did he need to go to the bathroom? No, he was leisurely strolling, not hurrying like you do when you need to go potty.

After a minute I laughed out loud, realizing he was just being "cool" and holding up his baggy pants. LOL! I have seen lots of guys around for years "jailing" with the baggy pants and exposed boxers, but never saw one hanging on to his crotch for dear life.

And no, it was not Justin Beiber in my apartment comples. I just wanted to have a "cool" pic for my post.

SonyaAnn was right! We are NOT aging!

I wanted to prove SonyaAnn wrong and prove that Hubby and I ARE aging, so I looked for old Mardi Gras pics, so I could compare apples to apples.

OMG! We look almost the same as we did in 2009! I think I actually look better than I did in that pic. I would have to dig out my backup disks to find an older pic. I think I will have to do that. But look:

Oh, and I found the first set of boobies Hubby wore. LOL!
Yep, a really bad boob job.

SonyaAnn, I will never doubt you again.

Hey, Mister, throw me some beads!

As usual, we had a great time at the Mardi Gras parade on the Galveston Seawall. It was chilly, but we were bundled up and spent a nice day, visiting, reading, relaxing and catching some beads. Here is a pic of our bead haul:
This mound of beads and goodies filled up a paper grocery sack! We usually only keep a few unusual strands and give the rest away. The beads are no longer the fun part...it is getting the beads that is the fun part. LOL!

Now, on to the fun part...(Do not go any further if you are offended by pictures of fake boobs.)
My girlfriend's mom got Hubby some brand new boobies for this year! He was rocking them!
Embarrassed? I don't think so!
This is one of my girlfriend's boys. They enjoy Hubby's antics too!

This guy remembered Hubby from last year.

Hubby fronting a band. He looks a little dented there!
Our annual Mardi Gras pic!

Hope you enjoyed our hilarity!

Can't wait for Saturday!!

Some of you have read of our fun adventures at the Mardi Gras celebration on Galveston Island. In case you have forgotten, I wrote about it here and here and my profile pic is from last year.

This year's festivities take place this Saturday and we cannot wait! I don't know who is going, except for me, Hubby and my gf, Trish. I am sure some more people will show up, but no matter who comes, we will have a ball.

I will try to get some fun pictures to post!

A surprise visitor!

Since this was Superbowl weekend, Hubby decided to go camping. Yes, he has been camping a lot, but it is a lot cheaper than some hobbies he could have. Plus, he takes such good care of me that he deserves a little treat now and then.

He is such a good hubby that he went to the grocery store on Friday so I would not have to this weekend. He told me to take it easy and stay off my leg all weekend. Some of you may recall that I pulled a hamstring and though it is getting better, it is still not healed, so I try to take it easy when I can trying to get it back to 100%.

So I planned to have a quiet weekend of watching movies and playing on-line. Surprise, surprise! Chance called yesterday around 4 to ask if we were busy as he thought he would bring Jacob by for a visit. I told him that Hubby was gone camping, but they could come visit me if they would like.

So, they got here around 5 and Jacob was SO happy to see me! And I was happy to see him. Chance sat down and we were having a nice visit while Jacob played with some cars we have here and chattered a mile a minute. Chance hinted around that he wanted to go somewhere with Samantha and John and wondered if it would be bad for him to hire a babysitter. I told him that I would let Jacob spend the night, but that my leg was hurting, so it might not be the best time since Hubby was not home. Chance already knew about my injury and he knows how painful it could be.

He looked so pathetic though that I finally couldn't say no. I told him Jacob could spend the night with me, but we would have to stay in as I would not be taking him to a movie or anything. Chance's mom takes Jacob to the movies and out to eat whenever he visits her and I didn't want Chance to expect me to be hobbling around with an almost 5 year old. He, of course, thought that would be fine. (Of course, he did.)

Chance ordered a pizza so I would not have to cook dinner, but he didn't want pizza. Of course, he didn't mention that until it arrived, but I think he planned to eat out somewhere. After the pizza came and he paid for it. Jacob and I ate pizza, Jacob had some ice cream and then we played. Well, mostly I sat with my leg propped up while he chattered and built "awesome" cars with Legos. Here is Jacob building one of those cars:
Isn't he a cutie?1

Then we tuned in to Netflix to see if there were any good movies on, since there was nothing kidlike on tv. We happened to find Jacob's "favorite movie", Iron Giant. I don't remember hearing about this animated film made in 1999, but it was excellent. I really enjoyed watching it and Jacob really did love it. And he kept reciting dialog with the characters, so it really must be one of his favorites.

After that one, we watche Phineas and Ferb, another one that I had heard of but never seen. It was okay, but Jacob loved it, so it was all good. Jacob went to sleep, all bedded down on the sofa, a little after 10 . Hey, he was at grandma's! I came in our bedroom and played on line and then read some until around 11.

Jacob came and crawled in my bed around 7, but I was already awake so went in the living room and clipped coupons and watched the news. Jacob got up around 9 and we watched Curious George until Chance got here. He hadn't told me that he had to get Jacob back home by 11, so they headed out pretty quickly. It was a little sad before they left as Jacob said he didn't want to go home...he wanted to stay with me. But we told him he could come back soon, so he was okay.

The rest of my Sunday was quiet as could be and I loved it. It was really nice seeing Chance and Jacob and I was happy I could help Chance out. I know he only has Jacob on the weekends, but I am sure that it is hard for a 23 year old to take care of a little boy around the clock. And Chance did want to spend some time with his sister and friends. So, it was all good.

Oh, yeah, and I watched the last 20 minutes of the Superbowl. That was enough for me.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
